If you arrive in late November you will be lucky enough to catch the Bua Tong flower festival. Situated in Doi Mae U-Kor mountain peak about 1.5 hours from Mae Sariang, once a year wild sunflowers come to their full bloom and cover the moutains in a golden blanket. Spend one night camping amidst the flowers and in the evening gather around the warmth of a camp fire whilst star gazing at the mountain night sky. Be sure to get there early and reserve your camping spot though, as this festival is extremely popular amongst Thai tourists!
