We are looking for English teachers to teach basic level English, and participate in all aspects of school and daily life at various hilltribe schools in Mae Hong Son province, Northern Thailand. You do not need to be a qualified ESL teacher or have teaching experience but you must have a willingness to befriend the students, and engage in cultural and knowledge exchange. The role is qute informal and there is much flexibility in what you want to do and acheive here. The role is not limited to teaching English you could do whatever interests you personally, for example teaching computing, creative activities, playing games and sport with the children.
It’s largely down to you what you make of the experience and the sky’s the limit in terms of what you can accomplish. We are always open to new ideas and ways of doing things.
It would definitely be an extraordinary experience in a unique setting with the chance for cross cultural exchange. As a volunteer you are helping to provide underprivileged children with exposure to foreign cultures and backgrounds which they would not otherwise have, and improve their oral English and communication skills. |
